Medieval castles kayak tour
Paddle away from the bustling town of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, along the magnificent coastline and gaze upon the breathtaking views of four different fortresses, each rich in history and folklore tales from ancient to modern times.
Our first stop is the famous fort of Bourtzi, built in 1473, located on a tiny inlet right in front of the port. Listen to tales of its importance throughout the years and the battles it has witnessed. As we paddle towards the old town of Nafplio, we pass under the cannons of the Old Town's first line of fortification, with the UNESCO World Heritage fortress of Palamidi looming above.
We then follow the ancient road of Nafplio, under Akronafplia fortress, where the breathtaking views of the dominant cliffs covered in succulent vegetation and the fortress as its crown at the top will leave you in awe.
We continue along the coastline until we reach a small secluded beach where we can savor our delicacies and refreshments. Depending on weather conditions, we may either paddle back to our starting point or reach our base at Karathonas beach, where you can try other water sports such as SUP (standup paddle boarding) and water-cycle. You will also have plenty of time for group and family photographs in the kayaks around the cliffs and forts before we conclude our tour at the beach base and transfer you back to Nafplio.
